The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club | Waikiki Beach, HI

There have been a line of trendy hotels popping up around Waikiki Beach this past year, but one of the newest boutique hotels to hit the strip is The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club. For the first leg of our wedding week and trip to Hawaii, Chong and I researched a few hotels, but after reading rave reviews on numerous travel sites, we were most excited to stay with The Surfjack. It was one of the most amazing hotel experiences we've had. Let's jump straight into all the reasons why.

For the fashion bloggers and for those who can't pass up an Instagram-worthy spot, there are major photo opportunities here, including a vibrant lounge area, drool-worthy swimming pool, and an adorable in-house coffee shop, restaurant and bar. The decor reads laid-back surf culture with delightful reminders of the tropics everywhere you turn. If you appreciate beautiful spaces, The Surfjack is filled with visual candy in every corner.

  • Free WiFi
  • Free bike rentals to ride around the streets of Waikiki
  • Free snacks and bottled water
  • Free daily coffee at Mahina and Sons, their in-house restaurant and bar
  • Free Surfjack beach tote
  • Hotel pool and towel rental
  • Speedy room service

  • King Bed
  • Big living space
  • Balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool
  • Large closet spaces (his and hers)

Welcoming atmosphere. Relaxed, casual, and squeaky clean. The staff was easy-going, super helpful, and friendly which made our stay extra enjoyable. I was in desperate need of a needle and thread for a dress malfunction the night before my wedding day and they came to the rescue.

  • 3 short blocks from Waikiki Beach and the main strip
  • Plenty of nearby dining options, shopping, and convenient stores
  • Valet service

To sum it up, it was just the coolest and hippest hotel. So many good things to say about The Surfjack, I highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again real soon.

There's never a more appropriate time to bust out a floral printed dress than at the first hint of Summer. There are so many chic variations in the prettiest prints out there now, but the silhouette I've been particularly loving are the ones with soft ruffles straps that fall off the shoulders. It's a playful and flirty detail that shows some skin without revealing too much.

The great thing about a floral maxi dress? it's casual, yet dressy at the same time, making it so appropriate for a number of Summer events. From an outdoor wedding to the beach and even holiday bbq's, a floral maxi dress always comes in handy during the hot season. These are the ones currently on my shopping list. Definitely looking forward to sunnier weekends here in SF just so I can throw a few more on.

The Summer Shoe Lineup

A few of my favorite shoe options for the Summer season, all affordable and so freakin' comfy. Every sandal above made traveling in Hawaii feel chic and easy, while the sensible heels were just perfect for low key nights.

Banana Republic: What Moves Us

The arrival of Spring always puts me in the mood for florals. I know, it's not exactly groundbreaking, but with each Spring, new iterations of florals are introduced that look and feel super fresh. This embellished jacket from Banana Republic is one of them. The subtle sprinkle of flowers here is such a cool, fun and feminine take on a field jacket. I am so easily moved by simple, yet well-crafted designs. Many times, I'll look past the garment and really think about the creativity, effort and time it took someone to put all that together. It takes a beautiful mind to come up with an idea and bring it to life.

This month, I've partnered up with Banana Republic to talk about what moves me and it really comes down to always being inspired by something or someone. Whether it's a visually heavy editorial or a story about girl bosses breaking barriers, these two things keep my creative juices flowing and pushes me to aim higher. When I come across an innovative site or read about business savvy women who've succeeded in their unique ideas, it's as if I feed off that success and it gives me the motivation to think of content ideas and work even harder.

If you find what moves you, that very thing is the core of your beliefs and passions. Always use it to push yourself forward.

As someone who is constantly inspired daily by what's in the fashion space, I love discovering new brands and learning the stories behind their products. Enter Bootaybag, an intimates subscription where you receive two chic panties for a flat rate of $12 a month. It's a pretty sweet deal for so many reasons.
